Can I use your nitrate-tester to measure nitrates content in water?
No, you can’t. The device is produced only to measure nitrates content in fresh vegetables and fruits.
Is it possible to measure nitrates content in sausage or other heat-treated meat products?
It is possible only under laboratory conditions. The nitrate-tester “SOEKS” is intended to detect nitrates content only in fresh products which have not been heat-treated or treated some other way (salting, pickling, canning).
Is it possible to measure nitrates content in oranges and other citrus fruits by the nitrate-tester?
The high content of a number of acids (citric, ascorbic, folic, etc.) in fruits of several citrus makes it impossible to accumulate nitrates in the fruit flesh. Excessive use of oranges for eating is not harmful to health, in terms of poisoning by nitrates. But you must be careful and remember about allergic reaction.
